Since I took some time to take a break, I thought I give you guys and gals 10 reasons to take a break. My break was a little stressful thinking about my internet business and it was relaxing as well. I had some fun on my break which seem to be less and less in my life since taking this business very serious and trying to keep it growing month after month. Like many internet entrepreneurs, marketers, and bloggers. I want to make a full time income from my work online.
Taking a break is a must to keep going in this business. I think my top 5 reasons will say it all. (Not in any order)
1) Spend time with family.
2) Spend time with friends.
3) Get much needed sleep. (My favorite thing to do)
4) Catch up on your favorite tv shows or finish reading a book.
5) Totally sit back and relax, enjoy the time off.
All 5 reasons result in fresh ideas for your business. Coming back to your business ready to work and fresh ideas will improve your business. For me its like getting new life into a dead business.
The things I got from my break
Coming from my break I got a lot of new ideas to not only improve the things I been doing but ideas to improve projects I am doing and up coming projects. A break is truly something that was much needed. I can’t believe how many ideas I got from having a break.
I think I got all the ideas I need for this month coming up. If all goes to plan, I should easily reach a few goals of mine for next month. Let’s go through these things.
1) Take the lessons in my ebook “Jump Start Mailing List” to the next level. Since I put it on hold to write the ebook, I feel that I should focus a month or so on taking it to the next level.
2) I will maintain 1 or 2 posts a day as normal but a lot more will be videos. It seems people enjoy videos a lot more than text. I guess its like a mini show and you can watch the episode as many times as you want.
3) I will be marketing my ebook a lot more. Best way not to fail at marketing my ebook is to never give up.
4) I will be doing some posts on here to help with the update of my ebook how to make a blog ready for success. The update will be a complete how to guide for blogging. I know many people will hate me for giving it away for free but everybody needs haters to be successful.
Those are all the things I came up with on my break. Number 4 is dear to me because it will take me around 3 to 6 months to complete all the blog posts and rewrite them into the ebook. I seen ebooks like this sale for over $100. So maybe I will make 2 versions of it. Free version a complete how to guide to make a blog ready for success and the paid version a complete how to guide to make a blog ready for success and how to make money from your blog.
Do you take breaks and what ideas you grab from it?

The best thing with taking a break is that it gives you more productivity will you are sitting in front of your computer. Since you have less time you’ll also spend less time just surfing and therefore you will get your task done faster.
I’m currently working on a post about this. Hopefully it will be published later this week.
The hardest thing about taking a break is that it makes you think you’ll miss out on getting things done. But it’s true that it can make you more productive. Now to drag myself away from the computer… lol!
I agree 100% about taking breaks. I think that’s been my problem of late.. all work and no play makes hanji a angry man.
h
Taking a break is very beneficial for everyone. The only bad point is that you might miss some opportunities… but well, in the other hand, taking some rest makes you more productive… it’s always good to see something other than computer.
I honestly wish I had time to take a break. Just have too much stuff going on right now, but hopefully I can take one soon. The one thing I do every year is go on a golf trip with 3 of my buddies for usually around 5 days. We always try to go some place new around the US, but once made it to Toronto… which was a blast. My “annual golf trip” was the only thing in the “prenup” when we got married (and it was only verbal), but my wife has never complained yet
I agree with you, it is always good to recharge your battery. I atually will be taking a break in about 11 days, I am taking my family to the shore for a week and my laptop is staying home. I will preload some posts but will not be blogging for a full week.
Wow, your points are taking a break are so true. One needs to work hard, but not neglect others as it will affect your life.
Thanks for sharing these points, will try more to just relax and enjoy life.
Great tips, but hard to do. I get up at 5 AM everyday and grab a coffee and I start blogging.
It gets tough for me to break away from the computer even when I am on vacation.
My wonderful life doesn’t allow me to have a break, if it’s not work it’s aggravation from work. Good times.
Taking a break from work is every essential just to refresh yourself and also to spend productivity time with your family.
Yeah, you got a point there. It does make you work harder. Depends on the person though. Some people are just lazy and will not work harder after a mid day break.
You are so right, I could not stop thinking about my business on my break. lol, it can be hard not to work. A break was kind of focused on me. I am happy it was though.
lol, that is me most of the time. All work and no play. Take small breaks to calm down. 1 or 2 hours a day for 5 days. Do anything but work in those hours. I don’t play games but I started to on my break and its a great way to relax.
You are right, we may miss out on somethings but being more productive is far more benficial. I agree it is good to see something other than the computer.
Sounds like you have a great time on your golf trips. What was the best place you golf at so far?
You have a great wife then.
First off… yes I do have a GREAT WIFE… Thanks!
As for the best place to golf, that is hard to say as every city we have been to have a least a few really good golf courses… and even playing the bad ones is better than working
You are so right, golfing is always better than working.
Nice a week vacation with family and blog on autopilot. I hope you enjoy your vacation and time with the family.
Yeah, relaxing does help you work smarter and harder. It’s weird how that works.
You welcome
Well, now I know why your blog is so successful. A break is due some time my friend. Take an hour to relax and be away from the computer. Im sure it will help.
Well you own 2 awesome offline businesses and blogs. I would picture any share time would go to family. How much time is to yourself?
I totally agree with that. Spend time with family and come back to work with a mind full of ideas.
