Today, I decided to do something different. I am going to showcase 3 wordpress themes for photography since I enjoy taking pictures of stuff, mostly food though. I don’t know why but food looks perfect to take pictures, to me anyway.
#3 WordPress Theme – PictureThis
The PictureThis wordpress theme provides more features than I know what to do with. The creator really put some thought and effort into building this photography wordpress theme. A very simple navbar on the left hand side while show casing photos on a full-screen style. No, I didn’t pick this one because of the woman in the picture. With over 800 copies sold this theme speaks for itself.
WordPress Theme Features
- Fullscreen Image Slideshow
- Advanced Portfolio Options
- Unlimited Colors
- 3 Custom Widgets (Recent, Popular, & Flickr
- 30+ Shortcodes
- Unlimited Sidebars
- WordPress 3.1+
- and more features…
#2 WordPress Theme - Photorific
This theme offers similar features as the one above but also offers video support. A see through navbar will allow your visitors to see your images in full without covering too much of your picture. On a side note, I love the photo the creator used to show case this wordpress theme. What a twist on the way of life. Amazing this theme has sold over 700 copies so far.
WordPress Theme Features
- Fullscreen Image Slideshow
- Choose Your Own Colors
- 3 Custom Widgets (Recent, Popular, & Flickr)
- Portfolio with video support (PrettyPhoto)
- 30+ Shortcodes
- Unlimited Sidebars
- WordPress 3.1+
- and more features…
#1 WordPress Theme - MediaReel
This wordpress theme is my favorite of all. If I was a full-time photographer or web designer I would most likely go with this theme to show case my work to clients. This theme has a hideaway navbar so all of your image is displayed. I don’t know what the creator was thinking when choosing the image to be display on the demo. I personally would have picked a woman for higher sales. Anyway, this theme was just recently released and featured.
WordPress Theme Features
- Fullscreen background Slideshow
- Portfolio Custom Post Type
- Color Picker
- Unlimited Sidebars
- 3 Custom Widgets
- WordPress 3.1+
- and more features…
Final Thoughts
It was fun to come up with the 3 best photography wordpress themes for July 2011. I think I will come up with a top 3 each month. If you want to buy any of these wordpress themes click on the image and sign up to ThemeForest to buy it.
What are your thoughts of these 3 wordpress themes?

Thanks, I will check it out.
Hey Deneil,
A great list of themes here. One of my friends is actually looking to get a website up, and he’s a photographer. I will definitely recommend these.
Haven’t talked to you in a long time man (this is Behnam btw, we used to chat on MSN).
Shoot me an email sometime and let’s catch up. The site is looking great.
Cheers,
Ben
