The Power Of Leverage

by Deneil Merritt on July 16, 2009

I went over a few things with personal development. I went over believe in what you do and the power of desire. Today I just want to talk about what I learned about the power of leverage. Some people believe they don’t have the resources to use leverage. By the end of this post you will learn that not only do you have the resources of leverage but you use it on a daily bases. Leverage can be used on a small scale or a small scale its all up to you.

Leveraging knowledge
This is the easiest way to use leverage and on its smallest scale. Knowledge is power and we all leverage other people’s knowledge to gain more knowledge. Every time you read a blog post and learn something new. You now have leveraged that bloggers knowledge to gain more knowledge. STOP LEVERAGING ME! lol just kidding. Learn all you can from me as I will learn from you any chance I get. :)

Leveraging big bloggers and internet marketers
When starting out none of us have a product of our own. We look for products that are related to our niche to promote for a commission. Yes, it is true the big bloggers and internet marketers are leveraging you (the affiliate) for free promotion, traffic, and more sales by giving you a % of the sale. (commission) We are too leveraging them for to make money by promoting a product related to our niche which we didn’t have to make the product, we don’t have to deal with refunds nor deal with cusmoter services.

Leverage all blogs with commentluv, keywordluv, and top commentator plugins
When a blog has the commentluv plugin. We make comments and people get to see our latest post and the title just might make a person come to our blogs. When a blog has the keywordluv, we use this resource as well. (Often I for too), and most of all. We all leverage blogs with the top commentators plugin. Seriously, from all the blog commenting I do, leaving real comments people come to my blog but most of all I get on top commentators lists without knowing until I see my name some where near the top of the top commentators list. Which resulted in nearly 9,000 backlinks to my blog as I type this post.

Leverage web designers, article writers, and programmers
Not all of us leverage these people but sometimes I have no choice but to outsource. I am often on a tight budget so I try to keep my outsouring to a minimum. Paying people to do what you don’t want to do, to busy to do, don’t know how to do, or don’t get paid enough to do is a great leveraging skills. Once you at this point there’s no way you can fail or should I say there’s no reason you should fail.

If I missed anything plus add it in your comment.

Leverage your profits to market yourself and/or build a larger network of sites.

Indeed that is a good. I can’t believe I forgot that one.

Very nice Deneil. I’d say the 3rd is probably my favorite — an surprisingly, you’re the one who introduced it to me!

Also, very well said Doug. Always good to leverage profits for bigger projects.

Well I am glad you like it and applied it.

Deniel, I don’t think you can call it leverage of other people’s knowledge when you learn something new. Yes you learn something but as you know “knowledge that is not applied is useless” :)

BTW you have a spelling error in your “7 Dollar Secrets” link in the sidebar :)

What kind of work do you outsource, if I may ask?

Do you outsource it to India or Philippines? /s

lol, you are so right. A lot of people forget to apply what they learn, or just too lazy to do so.

Thanks for pointing that out. I will fix it right now.

I outsource article writing (sometimes) and I always outsource web designing (I completely suck at web design)

I outsource this work to friends in the world. Does not matter what country they are in. We all should help our friends.

what i love with you deniel is that you do what you say well aside from the commentluv though but top commentators and recent comments really help a lot!

What do you mean aside from commentluv? I think you need to read the article all over again. It’s using leverage not having selected plugins on my blog.

I leverage a lot of writers for content for my network of sites. There is no way I would be able to keep up without outsourcing.

I find it more and more necessary to pay people to do some work for me, due to my lack of time. Recently, I have bought two great ebooks that I’m going to promote soon. One of them is about creating a better blog and the other one is about creating your own product that sell like hot cake. I believe that with the knowledge I acquired with these ebooks, I’ll be able to improve my blog! In order to save money on adword, I tend to comment on as many blog as possible related to the same subject as mine.

BTW, I noticed that two of your commentators mispelled your name deniel instead of Deneil.

You are right that we are using the leverage in our daily life in different manners and knowledge is much for anyone it doesn’t matter that where it you gain from.

Yes, knowledge comes from some many different places. People just need to keep their mind open to learn the lessons.

That second question was just sarcasm, hence the /s.

Yeah, I know what you mean. If I couldn’t outsource web design I would quit this business. I completely suck at web design. The best I can do is 125×125 banners with colorful text. Anything pass that and I am ready to hand over money.

Sounds like you are making all the right steps in business. As for blog commenting, your blog is in the “make money online” niche. If you want to gain a lot of readers you need to do blog commenting on all blogs outside the “make money online” niche.

Remember, everybody in your niche is teaching people how to make money online. Everybody else is trying to learn how to make money online.
