Desire is very important in ones success in life. Desire motivates a person to get out and do something. For example, I wasn’t happy blogging at kushmoney anymore. I realize that having my name allows me to shine as the person I am and build trust with people and most importantly trust my name. I wanted a blog I can be more personal and let the blog open my mind about different subjects. So I made deneilmerritt.com
You see my desire was to have a blog all about me and everything I do from business to personal development. Desire gave me the motivation to make the change. Desire to make money online from blogging and affiliate marketing motivates a person to work hard and smart. Desire keeps a person thinking of ways to make more money and making new blog posts.
Desire drives you, fuels your motivation to do something until you feel comfortable. If you want to make $1,000 a month, have the know how to do so, but lack the motivation to make $1,000 a month. That means you don’t desire $1,000 a month. You are comfortable right where you are. You won’t reach $1,000 until you feel the need to make $1,000 a month. Desire is beyond the feeling of “want” desire is that feeling of “need”
If you need to pay your rent or you will be homeless. Your motivation is through the roof. You have the desire to make the money to pay your rent. There will be nothing stopping you from making the money to pay your rent. If you were either in that position you know the feeling that I am talking about.
How to know your desires?
First write down everything that makes you happy. Even if you don’t have whatever it is that make you happy. (Do not write down a million dollars) Write down all the details, if it will cost you money to get it then write down the cost of it. This list is things that will make you happy.
For example, here’s my list. (No order)
My girlfriend
Freedom to travel ($10k a month)
Pay off all my debt ($25k)
Over come my OCD
Passive income for life
Become a professional poker player ($1k a month)
New Mercedes-Benz (I always wanted this car – $60k or $300-600 a month)
Condo less than 10 minutes away from the beach ($20-50k down, $2-5k a month)
See nothing over the top, just a simple list of the things that will make me a happy person for the rest of my life. I know what some of you are thinking. “If you desire that how come you don’t make enough money to have the things that makes you happy?” Well that is a fair question. Over the past year I have done things online in a long term plan. (I will explain in a bit)
Once you are done with writing your list of things that make you happy. Write down your plan to achieve the things on your list. Make out your plan very detail on how you going to do everything. Be so detail to the point if someone else found your plan they would mostly be successful. In other words, “idiot proof”
Since I am into blogging and affiliate marketing, my plan contains things internet related. I wrote down a plan to make money from ebook sites, membership sites, blogs, social networks, and affiliate marketing. All of which are long term incomes. Over the past year, I have been working on my blog (kushmoney), flipped a few websites here and there, and provided services. The blog was and still is a long term investment. Flipping websites and providing services were short term income to pay for things like domains, hosting, and pay for services.
Without my desire to make money in the long term I could have never made it pass a year blogging. Never over look your desire. The next time you about to think or say I wish I made that much money or I wish I had that. Ask yourself this one question.
Do I have the desire to work hard to get it?

Deneil,
I like this method for making things come true. I do think the starting point is to make a list of the desires. Somehow it makes them more real, more likely to happen. It is also a great exercise in self awareness.
Thanks for sharing your list. Good thoughts headed your way to see all of these come true!
Cheers
George
I assume you mean condo.
I actually have a blog about the 101 things (although the list isn’t that long yet) that I would like to accomplish in the next 1001 days. It’s always good to set a list of goals of the things you want in whatever timeline. Let me know when you are on the World Poker Tour… I enjoy watching those.

Deneil! As I said before, I do really like your way of thinking. I have too much desires. Hope my hard work will allow me to reach the freedom I am looking for!
I am glad you do. Don’t hope that your hard work pays off. Make a plan, take action, and watch how things unfold.
I am glad you like it. Yeah, starting with the list of desires is the perfect way to help with making goals to get them.
You welcome, working hard on making them come true.
lol, thank you for catching that. I will change it right now. Yeah, I took a look at that page 101 things to do in 1001 days. If I win a seat there, I will blog about it for sure.
