Today, I want to talk about showing your personality in your blog. A lot of bloggers forget to do this. I see blog after blog posting articles and just giving you and I information without the blogger’s personality in the article.
We are all people, we all like to laugh, we all have hobbies, and we all are bloggers. You shouldn’t hide your personality in your article because you afraid people may not like it. Why you think big name bloggers are big name bloggers? Because they show their personality in their posts.
The only time “all” bloggers show their personality is in blog comments, each of us we to voice our views on the topic that was posted. If a post made you laugh are you going to say that in your comment? Yes.
Why not put your personality in your posts so your readers get to know you and become fans of you. Even if a person hates (strong word huh? I know) or a person dislikes you. They will still come to your blog, read what you have to say, and post their views about it. Why? Because they don’t like you nor what you write. People whom love you or just like you will give the people that don’t like you a piece of their mind.
Just visit any big blog and look at the comments. People say what’s on their mind. You should do the same in your blog posts. There’s nothing better than people connecting with you on a topic.
Do I show my personality in my articles? Yes, I give it to you raw, either you love it or hate it. I am going to keep writing the way I write and say things the way I say them. You know what? This is my part of the world, get out, leave, and don’t let the browser hit you on the way out. lol just joking.
This is my part of the world though and you are welcome anytime.
See you get my point? Put your personality in your posts and let your readers connect with you. This will not only improve your blog but your readers will love you for it.
Do you put your personality in your posts? & Do you like my personality?

I agree with you 100% Deneil but I must admit that on some of my blogs I have put absolutely no personality in it at all.
My personal blogs, like my fishing and gardening sites I do put who I really am into my content as it’s me experiencing what I talk about.
I don’t always feel the same way with my other blogs. Guess I tend to be a little shy or feel that other’s couldn’t care less.
I know I like to read blogs where the owner reveals their personality so I don’t really know why I am so shy to do the same.
I can’t tell you how many times I have put in a personal story that I thought would go with a post only to remove it before publishing.
I will try to stop doing that and see if my subscribers go up.
Without a doubt personality is one of the most important parts of your blog. Regardless if I spend 6hrs on what I think will be the best blogging tips article ever, it turns out to be nothing when it comes to the response I get when I flip out about something and write reviews.
Great article. Added to Delicious and RT
With my other blog before changing it to poker I did a test to see which posts people connect with the most. It really show that people reply to posts that are personal because they can connect with you. With every post here I show my personality in them and people connect with me. There isn’t one post here that doesn’t have at least one comment on it.
Show your personality in every post you do and watch more people connect with you. Plus people are more willing to share a post they relate to with their friends and family. This will surely help your blogs grow.
Yeah, people love to related to something or laugh. Once I learned this at my other blog. I knew starting this one I will put my personality in every post I do. I find that doing so, people stay on your blog a lot longer than they normally would if you just put up an article with no personality. I know I stay on your blog a lot longer with you flipping out. lol
Thanks man, I really appreciate it.
I am going to start putting a little more of me in my posts and see what happens.
It would be pretty cool if that’s all it takes me to get more comments and interaction.
Very Important, I need to learn from this article and make sure to inject a bit of my personality in my posts
Good article Deneil! Keep up the good work!
And yeah, i reall like the widget you added …Payment off debt
Cheers
Sandeep
Ya show your personality, I like what you said “Yes, I give it to you raw, either you love it or hate it. I am going to keep writing the way I write and say things the way I say them.”
Hey you know what, I doesn’t want to reveal this till my next post, but just wanna tell you, the two days discussion on SEO, is truly great, even though opinion are different, there’s a lesson to it… and that is this “Show Your Personality” which is what is all about.
Oh your spelling for the title for the word “Personality” think spell wrongly…ops..
“I am who I am”, be yourself! Nice post!
Thank you
Very important thing to do. I think adding personally to your blog posts is great. It definitely makes it easier for readers to be able to relate to you. Then you can build a relationship with them in a way which also helps with making money online from email lists.
I do try my best, but it depends on what i am posting about. My more personal posts have my opinions or thoughts while others about blogging might be a bit straight forward. I will do my best to give it my all and shout out my personality.
MAYBE PUT IT ALL IN UPPERCASE – lol
I think it’s about consistency. If you want to have a straight-forward informative blog and make your intentions clear from the start, it’s ok to leave out the personal touch. If you want your readers to connect with you and share their personal insights as well, personality is a MUST.
I totally agree about the personality thing. That is why we are calling ourselves “Guru Wannabes”, as we want to make the site fun. Hopefully you will see more of our personality when we start doing more Video Tutorials, as we plan to make them fun to watch. I know I could use a little bit more fun in my writing, and I will try and make that happen
I fully agree, injecting personality is great for Edutainment.
A blog without personality is a dull and boring blog. I read Bad Blogger’s post and read every comment you wrote on SEO, thanks to you that post became hot for discussion.
I think I agree, showing yourself is giving doors for your readers to connect with you. That way you’ll have more faithful readers who will come back and promote your site.
Great post. I completely agree that bloggers really need to add personality. It is one of the most important parts of building a reputation.
Deneil, you’re completely right. I never read blogs that are simply straight to the point content (unless I need the information for a school assignment or something). Reading content like that gets boring after a while. I like to see the writer integrate their personality into their blog — just like you do.
I like the way you think! You as I say: blog what you say and say what you blog! I’m a-bloggin’ it!
Yeah, just ask yourself, what made you comment on my posts?
Yeah, it really does help. Let know how things change when you put more personality in your blog posts.
Thank you, I do my best.
Yeah, it’s there just to remind me why I work so hard.
Yeah, I really told you how I felt about SEO. Everybody view things differently.
Thanks for pointing that out. I will change it asap. I really need to look over my work before I publish it. Often times I just write out my posts, set everything, and then set them to be published.
True, building a relationship with people is a whole lot easier when you show your personality so people can relate. I know I connect more with bloggers that show their personality.
Yeah, that’s why I like your blog. You give your personal views on things.
Yeah, I agree but most bloggers want people to leave comments and voice their point of views. The problem is they leave out their personality in the post, which lead to people not posting comments.
Sounds like you guys have a plan. I got my flip camera today so I should have some pictures and videos in my posts soon.
I just hope I can do it with my videos as well.
I agree with you, the blog does get boring.
lol, I was just speaking on my views about SEO.
Hey Deneil,
Videos are great too. Darren Rowse and Yaro use such methods.
Yeah, I watch a lot of Yaro videos.
Yes, this is true. Even more than getting faithful readers coming back and promoting my blog on their blogs is building relationships with readers.
Indeed my friend. If a person can’t write with their personality in it. Do videos.
