Once in the top 3, pick another page and repeat. For example, I am focusing on a internal page to rank for ultimate bet rakeback.
By focusing on one page and one keyword at a time. You will build more backlinks to rank number 1 before any of your competition. This turns into more traffic faster with a solid hold on your rankings. You can always make sure that your rankings stay in the top 3 back keeping an eye on them as you build backlinks for your next page.
Here’s a more clear example, lets say each of the keywords you targeting gets 1,000 searches per month each, ranking number 1 gets you 40% of that to your website, and you rank number one for 5 keywords for 5 different pages. Now let me show you what that looks like for your website.

Page 2 – 400 visits a month
Page 3 – 400 visits a month
Page 4 – 400 visits a month

As you can see the traffic builds with each page ranking for its keyword. However, it doesn’t have to stop there. Each page can rank for more than one keyword to bring even more traffic to your website. Building a solid traffic base to your site will in turn bring in players and income. Now that we understand how your keyword research plays into your off-site SEO. Let’s get into the many ways of getting backlinks.
Article Marketing
This is the most known method of getting backlinks. There are a few ways to get articles out there and get backlinks. So let’s get into the different ways to do article marketing.
Article Dictionaries – Submitting your articles is the most well known method to use. Writing great articles will help you get more backlinks than just from the article dictionary. Blog Posts – Guest posting as always been a popular thing among bloggers. Great way to get your name out there and get more subscribers. So provide your best articles to bloggers. Here’s a few other things to do with your articles related to blogs.

Blog Commenting
Blog commenting is a sure fire way to build backlinks and gain traffic as well. I remember when I first started this blog. I had built up traffic, subscribers, always getting comments on each blog post, and the site was a PR3. The benefit of blog commenting is it take a lot less time than writing a blog post, you get to learn something new from the blog posts you read, you get a backlink, and you get traffic.
Now if you have or build up a list of active blogs. You can do a shit load of blog commenting in one day. Lucky for me when I first started this blog. My rss feed reader had over 500 blogs in it at the time and lucky for me many of them kept their blog posts very short. So it was pretty easy to do 300 blog comments some days.
Just remember when leaving blog comments, read the article first, and truly give your opinion. If you leave spam your comments won’t get approved. I know some of you may try some black hat stuff and spam a ton of blogs to rank for your keywords. Well guess what? It works but it will not last. You will fall from ranking high for your keywords.
Forum Posting
This is straight forward. You want to find forums related to your niche (in this case poker) that allow links in your signature. You want to provide great content on the forum by answering questions. Helping others with any problems you may know the answer to. However, in this niche very few forums allow links in your signature.
