March 2010 Income Report

by Deneil Merritt on April 2, 2010

Wow, this month just blew by. I can’t say I was really productive this month towards the business. I did most stuff before the 15th which includes selling ads and flipping a website. The rest of the month I was mostly productive towards getting my ex girlfriend back, talking with her, and spending time with her. I told her how I felt about her, told her about me deciding to move to Denver (Yes, I change my mind about moving to Vegas), and I did the unthinkable. I asked her to move with me. She didn’t give me an answer yet so you going to have to wait and see what happens. I guess we all on the edge of our sits about that one. Anyway, lets get into the traffic stats and my network income report.

Someone pointed out that I shouldn’t post the url’s to websites I sold ads on for a few reasons and I know their right. So for now on I will only be posting the amount I made from direct ads and not which sites the money came from. I know some of you will be asking why. The reason for this is pretty simple, I don’t want anyone copying my websites nor do I want others emailing google trying to get my websites banned. So with that being said, I will gladly help others trying to get into promoting poker via blogs, mini sites, or whatever. However, I will not post the urls to my websites.

March 2010 Income Report

Ad Networks: $11.12
Google Adsense – $4.29

Adbrite – $0.03
eBay Partner Network – $5.80

Affiliate Marketing: $57.68

Reefer Poker – $3.44
Yoga Poker – $40.62
Outstandingpoker – $12.81

Other Income: $400
Domain/Website Flipping: $400

Total Gross Internet Income Of March 2010: $893.80
Remember, my income is from my small network of blogs, websites, affiliate marketing, services, and website flipping.

In The Mind Of Deneil Merritt…
This month has been awesome in a few ways. First off, working things out with the woman I love is the most important thing to me. Just thinking about us spending time with each other puts a smile on my face. :) Since I am in such a great mood. I have no doubt in my mind April is going to be a income record breaker. The record was set in July 2009 at $1,363. April I am going to shoot for a minimum of $2k.

Second reason this month was awesome. Affiliate marketing is starting to pay off. A page on one of my poker websites ranks for a lot of keywords and signups a lot of players and I am hoping the trend continues with a few of my mini sites. As most of you know, I want to make at least 80% of my income from affiliate marketing and not ad sales. Even though I am really good at selling ads. Which is why for now on, I will be putting a minimum of 50% of my ad sales income towards SEO, content, and design for my websites.

3 months into the year. 1/4 of the year over and I am averaging a little under $900 a month. Nice start for the year. If I am going to reach my goal of a minimum of $2k a month. I am going to have to put in some serious productive hours. I got an idea on how to go about reaching this goal. So it shouldn’t be a problem but you never know.

So far this year, I have made a total of $2,619.72 and to reach my goal of averaging a minimum of $2k a month. I will need to make $2,375 a month for the rest of the year. For some that is nothing and others like myself. It’s like a mountain to climb. With my desire driving my motivation there is nothing I can’t do. So I say lets get to climbing!

Your Income is increasing day by day and it’s a good thing..Though I believe why you stopped updating your blog??

I been a bit too busy to make daily posts. Also, I haven’t had much to blog about nor the time. I’m running a case study about mini sites and once all my tests are done. I will be posting about it. Hopefully that will help a lot of people.

I have also noticed that you blog less now. Don’t worry as I’m also blogging less, been so busy with projects and freelancing.

BTW, I still think you made a decent amount of income. Will surely only rise in time. Keep well and hope to hear more from you ;)

Congratulations on your earnings for March. Your success is something that I aspire to get to one day so that I can leave my real job.

But more importantly, I hope it all goes well with you girlfriend. It is clear to see how strongly you feel about her so I hope everything works out for you two.

Thank you, it all happens with time. Once you put in the ground work, the money will follow.

Thank you, I never felt so strongly about another person until she walked into my life. I know in my heart it will work out if she wants it. I guess the unknowns is part of life.

Wow. Nice income. Direct ad sales income is really good. I never got direct ad offer from any advertiser till date :(

The key to getting direct ad sales is not waiting for them to come to you. Yeah, some advertisers will come to you but others you must find and contact them or make them aware of you.

Please don’t compare my traffic to my income. My traffic stats is just from this blog while my income is from my network.

Truth be told the key to earning is hard work and time.

Over $800 a month is good pay for your small network of sites. Well, depending on how many hours you put into them, of course :)

Deneil Merritt April 4, 2010 at 7:55 pm

You right about that. Sadly, I don’t keep track of the amount of hours I work.

I was honestly thinking the same thing until you pointed it out about your network being your income. Does your direct ad sales selling ads for your blogs or for something else? Also, congrats on the website flipping, when you show income are you showing profit or just how much you made (how much did you invest vs sell for?) I myself have never attempted the domain flipping business, seems highly risky unless you do lots of research and watch the domain auctions closely.

My direct ad sells come from a blog and mini sites. As for the website flip. I spent around $150 for domain and content. All income amounts stated in my income reports is gross income and not net income.

The goals are so important to reach. Right now I am just starting out-again..I have $100 a month goal, then I will just keep moving it up from there. Once the sites start to age then it is all good things from there.

Good luck to you and hopefully your first $5,000 month is right around the corner!
