On my lunch break today, I sat down and thought about what would have do if I had to start over with a zero dollar budget. I started making money online around the summer of 2007. Knowing the things I know now starting back then. I would surely be making a killing. First I would start like I did back then but on a lot larger scale. I started making money online 3 ways.
1. Project payday which gave me access to a forum to get paid to sign up.
2. Paid to click sites like hits4pay. Which pays you to visit sites.
3. Article writing business.
Truthfully, I have made more money running a article writing business then getting paid to sign up and getting paid to click put together. First I would write 5 articles in a selected niche which will make me a minimum of $100.
I would write an ebook about how to start a article writing business. With the $100, I would buy the domain name deneilmerritt.com at namecheap with the coupon code for $8.81 and the shared hosting baby package plan at hostgator with the coupon code WORDPRESS for $0.01 the first month and $7.95 a month after. I know some of you thinking why not the cheapest plan. Well that only allows you to have one domain name on that plan.
I will buy aweber at their test price $1. (If they had it back then) Pay a fair price web designer to make a ebook cover and landing page. Should be around $25 – $50. Then first the next up and coming internet marketing giveaway event and buy the upgrade. Promote the event as best I can. This should bring in around 20 – 80 subscribers to my mailing list. Mailing list grow blog. Nice way to grow my blog huh?
From there focus on the article writing business, my blog, and most importantly my mailing list. That’s what I would do if I had to start all over with a $0 budget.

Yep – you could create a high traffic blog and successful article writing business again in no time, using all the good experience you’ve had! The first year just takes so much time to learn all the tiny things. Great post – stumbled!

Hello Deneil… with a $0 budget you will get nowhere indeed. I noticed that there are a lot of making money online opportunities on Digital Point Forum. I now receive some customers asking me for mascot design for instance. Not to mention that I have received a lot of good traffic from there. It’s as good as the traffic I receive from JC site…
You right, the first year is always the hardest. The good thing is learning from others who done it before you. You know, learn from their mistakes and not make them yourself.
Haven’t really thought about it before.
If I had to start over with $0 and no experience at all. I wouldn’t change a thing from what I did the first time.
I wouldn’t say you would get no where with a $0 budget. I have ran my business on a $0 budget for the past 2 years. You can get somewhere, you just won’t get far.
with $0 budget how can we pay for hosting fees ect? We still need a budget, even very little… you can make some money from forums etc…
You might want to read the post over and you will understand how one can start with a $0 budget. It’s not hard to do but it does take time.
If someone gave you a paypal with no money in it and took you that you need to make enough money to afford domain, hosting, and mailing list from aweber for a month. You got 30 days to do so, how would you do it?
If you can answer that question, you got your way to make money and start from $0.
Don’t worry, I did read your post carefully. If I had 30 days to make money in order to pay everything I need such as hosting etc. I would offer my design service on several forums, sign-up in exchange of money, use several referral programs, etc… don’t get me wrong, I totally agree with you
Yeah, the first year is always tough and for most of us we don’t know enough to do the right things or had taken the longer route to get to where we wanted compared with other seasoned marketers. It’s an interesting question. But for me another question would be if I had $x how should I spend it then knowing what I know today. Surely I would have saved a lot of money like using the right web host for one.
