Fun Over The Weekend

by Deneil Merritt on January 25, 2010

Yesterday was my 24th birthday. I am far from where I thought I’d be at this age. Over the past 3 or 4 years of my life. I am a lot happier than before. I had to learn to let somethings go and accept myself as a person. Just thinking of the things I have been through, I have grown so much to be a better person. Always with positive thoughts and moving forward with life.

With that being said, lets get into what I did on my birthday. For one I didn’t work! I went out to lunch with my family. We all had a great time. Sadly, the workers had to sing me a song because it was my birthday. My dad and brother made sure of it. Funny thing is they said my name wrong. My name is clearly Deneil and they said Ga’neil. I really hate when people get my name wrong. This time I didn’t care. Well I cared a little. I will be posting pictures pretty soon. Well the solo pictures. My family don’t want to be known online like that. lol

So as a gift for myself, I thought I’d go to the casino (10 minute walk) and play poker live for the very first time. When I got to the casino, I decided to play the slots for a bit to relax. Lost $7 playing the penny slots. No big deal, it was pretty fun. So I go down stairs to the poker room. As I was walking closer and closer to the tables fear came over me. I have no idea why but its something about old guys sitting at a poker table scares me. (Stop laughing its not funny. lol)

I went outside and called the only person I know that plays poker. She was not letting me out of this. She kept telling me to go play. By the time I got off the phone with her it was 20 minutes to play poker. I didn’t want to play that short of a time. So I am going to play today. A guy that works at the casino was pretty cool. Even though he kept trying to get me to go check out the promotions they have for the next day. lol we talked about the new club that opened so ill be there Saturday. :)

All in all, I had a fun time on my birthday. Even though I chicken out from playing poker live. I will play today for sure. I will let everybody know how that goes on my poker blog. Now since you laughed at me for being afraid of old guys at the poker tables. You fear google lol.

Well, let me say sorry for only coming to your post now. It seems my work has blocked many sites I visit and you are one of them. You should be proud about that, lol.

HAPPY B-DAY to you, sounds like you had a good time. I was shocked to read that it was your very first time you played poker live (in a casino), as you have a site about it. When I go to the casino, which is very little, I play roulette (spelling) as the odds are better. I don’t play with much money as I’m not the best.

What I can say about knowing you is that I have learned a lot from you and hope that this year some of your goals will be reached.

My son loves going to Spur as they light up a sparkle and all the waiters come and sing a song.

lol, I guess its a good thing. People are visiting my blog while at WORK! lol

Thank you, indeed I did. My poker blog is about online poker and not about playing live. I still didn’t get to play live yet though. On my birthday, I chicken out, yesterday I worked then took a nap (much needed) but woke up too late to go play poker. So today I will be going. I got some advice from my affiliate marketing mentor about playing live so no fear this time.

Truthfully, you don’t have better odds playing roulette. You still playing against the casino. Playing poker you play against other players and not the casino.

Thank you, I am doing my best to push the income higher and higher and it seem to be working :) I hope you reach your goals as well. Im sure you can do it.

lol kids, they enjoy so much.

Happy belated 24th birthday! Glad you had some fun on the weekend! I can relate to being fearful of the casino poker tables. I played some online, and then with friends, but nothing was more intimidating than seeing serious players with real money on the table. I felt like if I did something wrong, it would mess up everyone else, so I just chickened out and stuck with video poker my last time in a casino.

Thank you. Yeah, I felt the same way. I just got back from playing poker. I went to the limit table. No limit table the players look really serious. I don’t want to mess up the flow of the game. Limit players was pretty cool about things when I made a mistake. Next time you in the casino, go for the limit holdem table. The play is pretty slow but at least you get over your fear.

Happy belated birthday Deneil! You really make me smile (not laugh) when I know that you scare of a old guy, lol! But don’t worry, I’ve never played poker game live, so I can’t laugh you, who knows I’ll be the one who scare of old man as well? lol!

I went casino once before, I played cards but forgot the name of the games. I won about $60-70, it was my first time gambling in casino, good luck huh? :D When I sit on the table and play the game, I got excited and my hand was a little bit shacking, because of a bit scare and the room was really cold.

Casino is far from my state, so I rarely go there, have you heard about “Genting Highlands”? Which is the popular casino and playgrounds in my country.

All the best Deneil! May all your wishes come true!

Cheers,
Lee

Thanks you. lol it’s cool, I went back 2 days later and played. :) Nothing to be afraid of once you sit down and get that first hand.

Nice, was it blackjack? lol it must have been really cold in there.

Ouch, I guess I am lucky I live 10 minutes away from a casino. Sadly, I never heard of the Genting Highlands.

Thank you, all the best to you as well.

Happy belated birthday Deneil! I know I’m late for the party but I sincerely wish you a wonderful year ahead with lots of success and joy while pursuing your career. Since Ka Hoong mentioned the Genting Highlands, you can consider to visit there if you ever visit Malaysia, bring a tie with you too for they have dress codes, as usual.
