by Deneil Merritt on January 1, 2010

December was a slow month for earnings but a lot of work behind the scenes. So much work went on preparing for this month. So we will see how those things turnout. Also, I play and study alot of poker to become better. So I know what I am talking about when posting on my poker blog and on my poker forum. So December was the month I put in alot of poker hours, could be the most poker hours I have ever put in. However, that’s another story. Lets get into the stats.

Remember, my income is from my small network of blogs, websites, affiliate marketing, services, and website flipping.

In The Mind Of Deneil Merritt…
As you can see, I didn’t do much. Just under $200. I know I could have done a lot more but most of my hours went towards playing poker. Studying what I am doing right and what I am doing wrong. Which help me explain somethings for my players and help them become better. This year, I know there will be alot more success for my small network of websites.

My poker blog is growing since I have been active posting poker strategies, news, and events. This year I plan on taking a more personal view with my poker blog by posting my bankroll status each week or month and launch the online poker tour on it. So the growth will be never ending.

my poker forum is growing. More and more members are starting to become more active. This is a long term project so it will take 6 months to a year before I get it to anywhere near where it should be. Until then I will keep at it. One nice little boost is the poker blog and forum are linked to each other. If you look at their menus. Both sites are linked.

my fight entertainment site pretty much killing it without me updating it. Last income report, adsense was around $4 and now its down to $2. However, just check out the ebay network earnings. Yes, the earnings just keep getting higher. I will try to update this site whenever I get the chance too. Would love to see the monthly earnings from this reach $100.

This blog, well this blog has never been the driving focus behind my earnings. It has made a few affiliate sales. However, that has never been proven. It could easily been from my free ebook.  This blog will stay my place to speak my mind. Never think that I gave up blogging. Just had nothing to say here for awhile. On that note, tomorrow I will be posting my 2010 plans and goals. Both personal and professional.

Let your desire drive your motivation and everything will workout.

As long as you made money from your sites then you have been successful in my mind. You are trying new things which is great. It is about learning new things and pushing forward. Greg Ellison

You are so right. Learning and pushing forward is all we can do.

Sounds like you got some good web properties and 2010 could be big as long as you keep building them! Best of luck in 2o1o!

Yup, that’s the plan anyway. Thanks for the kind words.

Nicely reported, Deneil; you were just about twice as much as me this month. I love the poker stuff on the other blog; I hope that works out to be very successful monetarily for you.

Yeah, im down from a month before though. Just got to keep at it. I am glad you like the articles. Trying my best with that blog. It made around 70% to 90% of my total income last year. Hopefully I can step it up with that blog and my new sites.

Nice month. Are you ready for a new year of 2010? I also have very many goals. Why don’t you try doing other types of websites to make money online rather than poker type websites?

Reply

Deneil Merritt January 2, 2010 at 1:22 am

Yes, I am ready for the new year. My goals are very simple and with hard work. I will complete them. Because poker is my passion and it makes me money to do websites about my passion.

Hey Deneil. That’s not too shabby. A lot of peoples’ blogs just kind of fall apart when they start to neglect them, so it’s nice to know that you don’t have to constantly grind on this blog in order for it to stay afloat. Here’s hoping for a good January and an awesome 2010!

Trey, I have neglected this blog somewhat. To go from 1 to 2 posts a day to 1 to 3 posts a month is a serious drop. However, I do know a few things to get visitors and commentators on any blog post I want. :)

Thanks for the kind words. I hope everything workout for you in 2010!

Your earnings are remarkable considering your traffic for the month, you have a well targeted niche with poker information and affiliates. How many blogs total is the income from? Is it this blog alone?

Reply

Deneil Merritt January 3, 2010 at 3:35 pm

Not to be rude but if you took the time to read the whole post and not just the title and the total you would know the answers to your questions.

I know that you mention three blogs plus the one forum, but you only list your traffic it would appear for this one blog. It gives a mixed picture, to show income from 3 blogs, but only show traffic stats for one blog. Also, you have your hands in possibly other projects as well, not sure if the Ebay thing is part of a blog or separate thing altogether. You wrote the article for people who already knew about you and all of your sites, but someone who visited the first time has a hard time making sense of all the data and where it all fits.

The income breakdown tells it all. Try reading this line under my total income. “Remember, my income is from my small network of blogs, websites, affiliate marketing, services, and website flipping.”

First of all, I don’t own 3 blogs. I own 2 blogs, a poker forum, entertainment site, and a untold number of mini sites. Traffic stats and income report has nothing to do with each other. I didn’t write an article for those who already know whats going on. I just wrote what was on my mind.

By the way, thanks for telling me that its hard to make sense of all the data and where it fits. Now I know for sure people can’t copy what I do.

I also have to get my income report out for December, been a bit lazy and all.

BTW, why do you use infolinks when the income made is so low? I find it strange, maybe it’s just me. I’m sure your target of $10,000 will be reached once all your other projects are running smooth.

Reply

Deneil Merritt January 5, 2010 at 2:41 am

lol, can’t wait to see the stats George.

lol, I get this question almost every month. infolinks is only on 2 websites. My entertainment site which has very little content to convert to links and a website I just use to pass link juice to my main sites. Funny thing is I am shocked that I get any clicks at all but it is what it is. As for reaching $10k a month. I am sure I will reach it once my main project is where I want it to be. It will take a year or 2 but I am willing to do the work.

I did try infolinks and kontera on my blog few weeks ago, the result disappointed me and I placed Adsense back. Also, I’ve stopped doing income report for this blog, but I did do that in an excel file in my local disk, will be publishing them some day in future. :D

Deneil Merritt, don’t worry about the earning, I’m sure you’ll hit $10,000 easily when your main project grows well. :)

Happy new year!

Cheers,
Lee

Why did you take adsense off your blog when you added the other ad networks? Many people are making good money running adsense and kontera together. As for the income reports, to each its own you know? Some like it and others don’t.

lol I am not worried about the earnings at all. My plans are coming together and I am loving every minute of it. This month so far has already pass last month income and its only the 6th! I keep this up, I am sure I can pass $1k this month.

Happy New Year & Cheers to Our Success in 2010!

I took Adsense off because I wanted to test whether other ad network could bring me more clicks compared to adsense. Unfortunately, I did receive quite some clicks from Kontera, but all the clicks were just worth few little cents, I still prefer Adsense, even number of click is less, but they pay higher.

$1k per month is a good income, hope you could achieve it this month, don’t forget to reveal it at the end of the month.

Cheers,
Lee

Pretty good! Does it really pay to play Poker?
I used to play Poker on Facebook for 4-5 hours daily, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. If you divert this energy in other work, it will help you to earn more or at least get knowledge. This is what I concluded after my failure at poker.

Deneil Merritt January 12, 2010 at 6:10 am

Poker is just like anything else. The more you know the better you are. The better you are the more money you make.
